You Wait Ages For Something New....

...and then two come along at once!

Yep, the Dutch 1815 Militia are finished, two 20 figure units soon to be hot footing it to the a better life abroad. Newline Napoleonics, of course, with banners courtesy of warflag.

Apart from an abortive attempt to make a unit up from some ESCI British plastics years ago, I cannot remember ever painting up any Dutch Militia. Not sure how well they fight but they do look rather good.

I have very nearly completed all my outstanding Newline figures (Napoleonics at least) and only have a couple more posts worth before I start on some "vintage 20mm" stuff. Which clumsily brings me onto my latest purchase. While browsing the net last night I discovered that Garrison Miniatures have released their old 20mm Napoleonic range again. I placed an order for some French infantry and a few odd cavalry types and will let you see the results as soon as possible.

14th Light Dragoons

After what seems an eternity I have finally been able to finish the Light Dragoons!

These are the last of my current box of Newline cavalry (apart from some Scots Grey casualty figures). I am starting some Newline Dutch infantry later tonight-hopefully they will not be taking as long!

I hope to be posting again before the end of next week with the results.

14th Light Dragoons-A WIP Shot

Progress has been slow this week, here is half of my total painting on all fronts.

The original plan was to have all 24 finished and based up but it has just been one of those weeks.

Anyway, I should have this lot finished by next weekend and hope to start the last of the (current) Newline pile-more Dutch/Belgians.

After that I plan on more vintage 20mm Napoleonics and loads of ACW figures.

Napoleonic Dutch Infantry #2

The title says it all again! A small 20 figure unit of Newline Designs Dutch Napoleonic infantry. These are to be part of a batch destined for another's collection at the end of the month.

I am actually running out of Newline figures BUT I have a load of various vintage DK, Scruby and Douglas miniatures plus a whole load of ACW figures including Wodensfeld, Airfix, Kennington, Jacklex and Newline. Enough to keep me busy for a while!

June will be a busier month on this blog than in May. Apologies for the lack of Airfix Ancient Britons, they have been put on the back burner for the moment.
